Charity spent the day today doing a little last minute shopping with her Nanny and Great Granny. She entertained people everywhere we went. She is all about new things the last week or so. She has all of a sudden outgrown her size 2 diapers. Of course her mommy just bought a big bag of them a week ago and it is now a chore to squeeze her into them! She is really liking the back-crab-crawl. Thinks it is just hilarious. So do we. And now she has new noises. She has this
"monster" growl. I don't know how else to describe it. She mixes it up a bit with a few screams and screeches. Sounds like a horror show. We had people following us around in Walmart today so they could talk to her. It is definitely time to start documenting all this on video. It might be worth something some day!

Charity on the Move....Upside down and backward.
Charity has finally found a way to get where she wants to go. Well sort of, she is a little too lazy to roll herself over from her back. Just can't seem to find the motivation for the effort. She has however figured out that she can move while on her back. She tips her head back looking upside down then lifts her butt off the floor and pushes with her feet. So she scoots herself around the room on her back while looking upside down where she is going. I'm not sure but I think she has come up with a pretty unique way to accomplish creeping. Must be a sign of a great creative mind in the making....

Santa Baby
What a goofy grin. I have been wanting to get her into that sleigh and take pictures for 2 weeks. I tried the other day but she was sleepy and was not interested in taking pictures.
Yesterday though she was all grins and giggles. I think we can get into this Christmas thing. The big box behind her is her very first Christmas present. It is from her Uncle Galen. He told me not to get too caried away with buying things for her for Christmas ( he needs presents too...) So who do you think is going to get caried away buying presents?

More Merry Christmas Pictures
Merry Christmas!!
Yeah! I finally have a few minutes and new pictures to share!
5 mos 1 week old and she weighed 15 lbs 1 oz this morning. We went for a quick visit to see the girls at the clinic today and stopped by the scale while we were there. She will learn to avoid them eventually. We also had a milestone. She didn't scream and cry at anyone. She usually pouts and cries when someone she doesn't know well gets too close. She even laughed at Dr. K, of course Rita said that was only because he looks funny. LOL.

Grumpy sick baby..,.
Sorry, no new pics to post today. I am falling down on the job. We have had a busy and stressful time the last couple of weeks. Amongst other things, Charity has been sick again.... She went back to the doctor last week because she was very grumpy and just generally not feeling very good (just like the last time when she had strep). She still had little nasal congestion which just seems to be the status quo. Trish checked her over and couldn't find anything signs of a problem so she said to try some Dimetap decongestant, and just wait and see and let her know if she got any new symptoms or just got worse. I went back the next day and said she is worse now running a low grade fever. So she put her back on the good ol' amoxacillin. Anyone who raised any kids knows the stuff, it used to be the pink stuff that tasted like bubble gum. I remember getting it when I was a kid. It is orange now and I couldn't tell you what it tastes like but Charity seems to like it. Anyway... After two days she seemed to be improving. Then came the weekend. She was a very grumpy sick baby now with a cough. We called the clinic yesterday after the worst grumpy baby day ever and Trish said to bring her in today for a chest xray. Virginia spent the night last night walking the house with her and neither got much sleep. So I wasn't surprised to find today that she has a little bit of pneumonia. So in one week we went from just grumpy and no real symptoms to pneumonia. Now she is on stronger antibiotics and we are praying for a quick recovery. I miss the happy silly giggly Charity that has been replaced by the grumpy sick version. I am just very grateful she doesn't have to go to daycare. So stay tuned and as soon as she recovers I will have more happy smiley Charity pictures for everyone.

Time for the exersaucer
As the bassinet went into the attic, the exersaucer came down. Jeremy put it up there because it was in the way before. I figured it was a fair trade. She loves it. There is a purple cow with a small mirror on it and she is in love with it. She grabs and coos and talks to it. She is interested in the other toys but there is something about the purple cow that she really likes. She forgets about the other stuff and just talks to the cow.
SMILES!
Ok, I've been gone on vacation. Busy with family weddings. But To reward you, Charity smiled for me today...lots of smiles that I finally managed to get with the camera!!!
This happy little girl is sleeping soundly through the night... All night... Everytime...Yeah! We packed up the newborn clothes and the bassinet went into the attic this week. Mom was a little depressed, but we've moved on to bigger and cuter clothes and more sleep.

Almost a Smile
She was having a happy time on the floor. For a few minutes anyway. She has had another bad week. She broke out in hives Thursday morning. We decided she is allergic to something her momma was eating. Dr. Tricia allowed that this was probably a bad omen of things to come. She was sick all weekend with a nice summer cold. Nothing like a baby with a snotty stuffing nose. But she is getting over it now and hasn't had any more hives. After raising TJ with horrible allergies and asthma I really hate to see we have passed on the curse to another generation.
You can't see the OU Sooners on her shirt but Charity is not a fair weather fan. She wore it today even though they sucked it up Saturday and lost to TCU!!! Thanks to Auntie Anna Kay for the Sooner outfit.

Rasberries from Charity
Charity has mastered control of her tongue! She likes to play with it. She is working on controling the arms and legs. She can push up on her elbows and look around and she has turned from her tummy to her side a few times. Of course, when she does she looks around wondering what happed? She is really good at smiling but I have found it impossible to catch one with the camera. And yes she can say aaagooooooo and ooooooooooo. What a smart baby she is!
Chinese Chins
Charity is recovering from her first round of immunizations. She has been a very grumpy baby since Monday. Thank God for tylenol. She weighed in at 9 lbs 15 oz and was 21 3/4 inches tall. She is still the petite flower like her mom but she is beginning to show a few rolls of baby fat and an extra chin or two. Her daddy says she has more chins than a Chinese phone book. Wednesday is Granny day. She spends the day with Granny and Granny O. Granny O looks forward to their visit every week. She frequently asks "when do we get the baby again?"

Five Generations
We didn't have anyone else to take the picture, but we found the tripod and timer on the camera worked great. You don't often get to have 5 generations of a family together. I think Great Great Granny O is very proud and happy to have 2 brand new great great granddaughters. Carlee Jane is in florida with her Mom and Dad or we would certainly have put her in the picture as well.
My first 4th of July
Charity spent her first ever July 4th at home with her Mom and Nanny. Poor old dad had to work. Someone has to serve and protect us {while watching the fireworks from the roof of the firestation}. In the evening her Great Granny and Great Great Granny O came over for dinner and watched the fireworks display from her front yard. Charity enjoyed the company and then fell fast asleep before the show started. She also posed for a few pictures.
A whole new world
